Stats: I am sorry to hear about this. By "treatment out of question" i assume you mean chemoradiation as well as surgical interventions. As we say, everyone's anatomy and physiology is different, so survival curves must be taken with a grain of salt. I would refer you to www.Cancer.Gov; this is the nih/national cancer institute's site for actual statistics. Be careful! confer with your physician!

Years: Some people survive years with a Stage III lung cancer, but the average survival is much less than that and is on the order of several months. Survival is quite variable and depends on the biology of the cancer and the health of the patient and the interaction between the 2. The immune system and psychological outlook of the patient play important roles.
