Yes, continue: It is very important to maintain motion of all your joints, even the arthritic ones, so staying active is important. Use pain as a monitor of what you should and should not do. Ice after exercising, and if ok with your md, take some occasional meds as needed. If you just stop, it will affect so many things about your body in a negative way that other medical issues may arise.

Depends on what type: If you have an active, inflammatory arthritis such as rheumatoid arthritis, then intense or high impact exercise is not advisable due to the possible risk of injuring your joints or aggravating the inflammation.I advise my patients to only do light exercise such as walking as long as there isn't pain until the arthritis is brought under control with effective meds.Be sure to ask your rheumatologist.
