I have a sore throat at the moment and taking an antibiotic but i can feel something in the throat nears my adam's apple what could it be?

With a throat infection, there is typically swelling of the tonsils and of the paratonsilar lymph nodes. the "something" you feel near your adam's apple may be either of these. The swelling may be most noticeable when you try to swallow or talk, depending on the extent of the inflammation.
