Start Simple: Start with simple "sleep hygiene". Set a bedtime routine and time and stick to it, even on weekends. Cut out tv or reading in bed. Daily exercise helps a lot with sleep. You can also try over the counter melatonin supplements. If all else fails talk to your doc about short term sleep meds.

Relax: Try to relax at bedtime. Keep the room dark, cool, quiet. Avoid caffeine or alcohol. Try some deep breathing exercises. If you don't feel tired, get out of bed and go into another room. Try some light reading. Avoid the tv or computer as this stimulates the posterior brain regions. Use the bedroom for sleep and not as a reeding room. Intercourse may help you to relax.
