Wax?: Your problem may not be as simple as merely removing wax from your ear. There are otc products as your pharmacy that doctors recommend such as "debrox earwax removal aid kit". Unless you get complete and immediate relief using that product, you should see your physician. It might also be related to a TMJ problem that your dentist can evaluate. Good luck!

May not be wax: It would be wise to visit an ear/nose/throat doctor to check, but it's possible that there is no wax . You've touched upon a possible cause. Chronic clenching/grinding of teeth can cause ear symptoms such as tinnitus(ringing in ears), ear pain, or diminished hearing as you describe. No surprise, since jaw joint (TMJ) is right next to ear. Consider seeing a dentist who concentrates on TMJ
