Possibly not: The a1c of 6.6 is high and in the diabetic range, but the fasting and 2 hr sugars are normal. The a1c reflects average sugars over 2-3 months, so it is possible your sugars were high a few months ago. Occasionally we find that the hba1c is not accurate because of problems with the hemoglobin, such as a hemoglobinopathy. You should continue to monitor your sugar.
