Call your doctor: Usually oral steroids work within a day or 2, if you continue to have symptoms, you should contact your doctor immediately, as you may have not responded well to the medication. Some individuals' asthma does not respond to steroids and other medications are given.

See your doctor: If you are on oral steroids and are still having significant asthma symptoms, you should see your doctor immediately. You should also plan to see a board-certified allergist, who also has extensive training in the management of asthma.
