Common Peroneal N: The nerve spins around the outside of the knee, around the upper fibula (thin long bone below your knee). If you can walk on your heels, lifting your toes in the air, it should resolve with time. Pressure on the nerve occurs easily because it is under the skin and gets pinned against the bone.

Bruised a nerve : Numbness usually means nerve injury or inflammation. It would be rare to have a serious or long-standing nerve injury from a mechanism such as yours. I would simply observe your symptoms, and if necessary, gently ice the area for 20 minutes at a time and take some Ibuprofen or naproxen. I bet the numbness will resolve soon.
