A member asked:

With 30 percent optic nerve damage should treatment be provided by a glaucoma specialist or is an ophthalmologist able to provide same treatment?

Depends: If your pressure is now well controlled, and repeated testing shows no further damage, then you are fine with your general ophthalmologist.

Either: A general ophthmologist can treat same as a glaucoma specialist, who is also an ophthalmologist.

Ophthalmologist: A comprehensive ophthalmologist should be able to treat you apppropriately. A 30% loss of optic nerve fibers is typically a mild form pf glaucoma as up to 50% of the nerve fibers can be lost prior to visual field loss.
