No: In high doses it is good for loweringtriglycerides.

No: It doesn't impact cholesterol, and the last three big studies i've seen on omega 3 as a way of protecting onesself from coronary artery atherosclerosis, heart attack and so forth have been disappointments. Some people find it helpful for its anti-inflammatory properties.
