Ends at adulthood: Osgood-shlatter's disease is an apophysitis of the tibial tubercle. It is related to increased activity and is often seen after growth spurts (bones grow fast, and tendons do not keep up...Causing tightness in areas such as the patellar tendon...Causing excessive traction on the tibial tubercle resulting in apophysitis). At skeletal maturity, the apophysis closes and the pain goes away!
