Patience : Osgood schlatter's disease is a bone problem that occurs in burgeoning adolescence. It is benign in most cases. Anti inflammatories & rest are all that is usually needed to deal with it. Occasionally it's gets severe enough to merit casting. After growth is over the problem settles down. This is particularly common in male athletes. http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/osgood-schlatter-disease/ds.

Osgood Schlatter: Osgood-schlatter is a condition involving a portion of the tibial growth plate at the insertion of the patellar tendon. It is associated with tight quadriceps (especially the rectus femoris). There can be a painful fragmentation that occurs at this area. The best treatment is stretching, nsaids and rice. It resolves when the growth plates close.
