A member asked:

My daughter had "dissolvable " sutures in her eyebrow approx 3 weeks ago. the wound is healed but the sutures have not dissolved , can i cut the ends?

Yes: You can cut the ends but why not just grasp them with some type of tweezer and pull them out. You have to grab them with a tweezer to effectively cut them anyway and after three weeks, they have done their job.

Yes: A facial wound is pretty quick to heal, a week or two. If it is healed it would be safe to cut the ends. Absorbable suture can take months to disappear depending on what was used.
