A member asked:

My father age 72 yrs. he has chronic lower back pain . can't sleep at night and recently lost the ability to move . one of his legs is numbed .

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Needs evaluatuon.: Your dr. Will determine if his pain is keeping him awake at night. How is his mental state ? Depression is a common cause of insomnia and will sometimes aggravate or even cause pain symptoms. His leg numbness and inability to move needs to be investigated. Is his back pain caused by pinched nerves in his spine/lower back and now causing further neurological problems? Please get him to an md.
