Corneal specialist: You need, preferably, to be under care of ophthalmologist who is specialized in cornea. If your corneal damage is under treated it can lead to corneal implant. You may need to take antiviral medicine by mouth. See ophthalmologist as soon as possible. Treatment can take from a few weeks to a few months.

Within 7-14 days: Generally in dendritic keratitis that is treated early, the disease course lasts for about 7-10 days. More complicated forms may take several months to become stabilized.

Vision takes longer: After the dendrite clears, swelling is usually present that may keep your vision blurry. This phase can last more than a week after you finish your antiviral.
