One can do: Just fine with even a solitary kidney. This should not Prohibit you from having a normal life.

See below: You can have one congenitally small kidney and have a normal function .Other causes sometimes associated with hypertension are narrowing of the blood vessel to the smaller kidney or a chronic blockage resulting in kidney shrinkage. Blood tests can help decide if the kidney function is normal, stable or deterirating.
