Few choices: You may have a tendon snapping over the joint, or a torn labrum (cartilage) inside of the joint.

Click: The noise could come from hip joint, but can also come from tendons or ligaments. Although you click do you have other symptoms? Pain swelling etc.

A 17-year-old female asked:
Why does my groin area click or pop when I open my leg outward? And should I be worried about it if I constantly pop my groin as much as cracking my knuckles?

Evaluation needed: You may have a loose body in your hip joint or a slipped growth center. Further evaluation by a physician, preferable orthopaedic is advisable. Thanks for trusting HealthTap!
