Why does my right ear hurt when i touch it on the back side?

Back of R ear hurts: If it is the ear itself that hurts, you could have a mild skin infection in the area. Inflammation of the cartilage is also a possibility, although your ear would hurt even without touching it. Do you feel a bump in the area? Try an anti-inflammatory like Ibuprofen for pain relief until you can see your doctor.
