Cherry juice: I have patients who swear by cherry juice for gout. Still, you should discuss treatment with your doctor or podiatrist. Gouty attacks can destroy joints and lead to chronic arthritis and pain. If diet changes and good hydration don't stop attacks, you may need a uric acid lowering medication.

Diet!: Plenty of fluids! water best! avoid organ meats-liver, sweetbreads, etc. Avoid alcohol. Cherry juice can help. But the good doctor is correct! you need to have the diagnosis confirmed, so the right meds can be given. Gout can rarely be controlled without meds!
