Is it a good idea to give my child the gardisil vaccine?

Yes: Yes, i recommend parents giving gardasil. Gardasil is a vaccine against hpv (human papilloma virus), the virus that causes genital warts and cervical cancer. This vaccine is very effective in girls from 9-26 years old up to 90% effective against cervical cancer and 70% effective against genital warts. It recently was approved for boys as well.

Yes: Gardisil protects your child from human papilloma virus infection. Hpv causes genital warts, but is also a leading risk factor for the development of cancer of the cervix. Gardisil is safe and very effective and can prevent cancer! pediatricians strongly recommend it for girls over age 11 and will also be giving it soon to boys.

Yes: You have plenty of time to think about this one as it is not licensed for babies. It may be administered to children as young as 9 years of age, though the recommendation is to offer the vaccine to most children at 11-12 years of age. This is a very important vaccine that helps to prevent the development of cervical cancer in women as well as genital warts.

Yes: The Gardasil vaccine protects boys and girls from infections by certain viruses that cause genital warts, cervical cancer, and anal cancer. A child needs to already have the protection before coming into contact with the viruses. That means one should not wait until after sexual contact to get the vaccine.
