Just a few days but: If your high calcium is caused by calcium supplements then it should come down within just a few days of stopping the supplements. However, it is highly unlikely your high calcium is caused by calcium supplements. It is almost always caused by hyperparathyroidism, benign enlargement of the parathyroid glands. Testing your level of parathyroid hormone can confirm this.

High calcium: If you stop taking calcium, it’s effects on your blood calcium would be over in 72 hours, assuming you are well hydrated. If the elevated calcium persists, have a repeat lab with calcium, ionized calcium, intact PTH, and 25 OH vitamin D drawn. These will establish whether you have primary hyperparathyroidism or not.
