Periodontal abcess: This is an acute flare-up of a chronic condition which is present around the tooth. Every time the blister appears, you are having an abcess and losing more supporting bone.

Abscess : Tooth abscess is a likely explanation. Tooth abscess will be painless as long as it drains. It will be painful when it builds pressure. It should be treated to resolve the infection.

Chronic infection: You apparently have a chronic infection that is festering from either an infected tooth or an infection in your gums. These types of infections may fluctuate and periodically open and close at the surface as the body tries to heal and cope with the infection. Unfortunately, it is similar to an iceberg where the major infection is larger than what appears at the surface. It needs immediate care!

Periodontal abscess: Since it is always in the same place, this is a drainage tract of a periodontal abscess. Treat the abscess with deep cleaning (scaling and root planing), adjust the occlusion of the tooth involved, and possible laser (lanap) in the pocket to removed granulation tissue and regenerate and/or repair the defect. Follow up for 3-6 months to rule out endodontic lesion and insure the good healing.
