Diet and exercise: There are a great many fad diet programs out there that want to take your money. Making a permanent lifestyle change to eat less and exercise more is the best way to lose weight and keep it off. Please see your doctor before beginning any strenous exercise program, especially if you have cardiac problems. Start slow and don't rush. Over time, you will look and feel better.

Loosing weight: Eat healthfully. Try to eat at least 5 servings of vegetables & 4 of fruit per day. Increase nutritional fiber. Avoid refined sugar & junk carbohydrates. Avoid alcohol, sweetened juices, soda & caffeinated beverages. Aim for 7.5 to 8 hrs of sleep / night. Hydrate w at least 64 oz of water / day. Calories burned must > calories consumed. Do both cardio & weight training.
