Gradually: Gradually weaning probably better than a sudden stop. You'll have to tolerate the crying for a while. Your child needs to learn to comfort him/herself and weaning off of the pacifier is a start.

Don't Worry: Most children will stop using a pacifier in their own good time. You good certainly reducing the time spent using the pacifier by keeping your child very preoccupied with other matters. Look at developing other acceptable means of addressing your child's needs for self-comfort.

This too shall pass: By taking a scissors and cutting the pacifier and then show your daughter that it broken and doesn't work anymore. She cry for a few days but this too shall pass.
