Possibly: Both are widespread and common, so hard to call them genetic. However, if both parents are highly myopic there is a strong chance of their children inheriting this trait.

Yes: Although we do not know which genes are involved, they are definitely genetic. They are likely mulifactorial, meaning that more than one gene is involved.
