Take advice: You should discuss this issue with and listen to the dentists that are actually treating you: orthodontist, general dentist (and endodontist if necessary) and who can actually examine you, do some tests, and make whatever adjustments and modifications to your dental treatment as needed. They can also follow-up the tooth's progress.

Monitor: Your dental professionals will monitor your situation, possibly refer you to an endodontist for a consult and evaluation. Between you, a decision will be made as the disposition of the tooth and possible root canal therapy.

Consultation: It happens rarely, but sometimes the nerve of a tooth dies during Orthodontic treatment, especially if there is a history of previous trauma. As an Orthodontist I would ask your General Dentist to refer you to a root canal specialist, an Endodontist, for evaluation and (if necessary) treatment. Your Dentist and your Orthodontist know your best, seek their advice.
