Ingrown nail: Is the sore next to your nail. You may have an ingrown toenail. Antibiotics will not relieve all of it if it is an ingrown nail. Seek foot specialist to remove the nail.

Visit a podiatrit : I agree with the other poster. An ingrown nail is best relieved by removing the edge of the nail that is digging into your toe. Taking antibiotics may help relieve a secondary infection but, if the ingrown nail is causing the problem, removing the little edge of the nail under local anesthesia is usually curative.

It may hurt, but...: There is a small piece of nail still embedded in the corner. You need to get that out. If you can't get it out on your own, a podiatrist can. Sometimes this can be done without numbing the toe, but often, anesthesia is necessary. If it is a chronic condition, there is a very successful surgery that can be done to permanently correct the problem.
