Fracture big toe-yes: A broken big toe should probably be seen, a lesser toe can be buddy taped. I do think most toe fractures should be x-rayed to see if the alignment of the fracture is good

A crap shoot.: At your age, it takes considerable trauma to fracture your big toe. If the to looks crooked, cracks or creaks, it is probably fractured. If not, your probably ok. Apply ice and elevate for a couple of days to reduce the swelling and pain. A toe splint or basket weave type splint should do just fine. Of course, to remove all doubt, have it x-rayed. The biggest problem is finding a shoe to wear.
