Is having an ovarian cyst drained different to having an ovarian cyst removed? i had a cyst drained a week ago and have the same symptoms

Yes: When a patient has the cyst drained, it means that the fluid is removed but the lining of the cyst reains. There is a chance the cyst will fill with fluid again. When the entire cyat is removed, including the lining, there is little chance it will return.
