A member asked:

I have an 8cm ovarian cyst and pregnant, my doctor said he will drain it vaganily as i won't need any pain killers or anaesthetic, is this safe?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Ovarian cyst: Ovarian cysts are very common in early pregnancy and throughout the first trimester. If you are in the first trimester, avoid any intervention as the cyst will probably resolve on its own. If your doctor is worried about a malignancy then needle drainage should be avoided at all costs.
