A member asked:

Where do botox injections for anal fissures go? does it get injected up there where the fissures are?

Not in the fissure : The anal fissure is due to spasm or tightness of the anal sphincter muscle. The Botox is injected in different places in the muscle to help relax the muscle and prevent further spasm. Botox is not injected in the fissure itself.

Botox for fissures: Botox can be injected into the sphincter muscles around the anus to relax the overpowering muscle and allow the fissure to heal. This can be done under anesthesia during an "exam under anesthesia" so you don't experience any discomfort.
