Safe or Useful/Wise?: All vitamins common in nature, extracted, packaged & ↑es monetary return from processing otherwise waste food. Study issues on google, khan academy, wikipedia, nih.Gov, etc. 2 very large multi-country observational trials comparing those taking daily vs. Not (& attempting to match other issues) have shown zero benefit, yet ~5% higher mortality rate in older women. Focus on food & specific issues.

Very safe &advisable: According to the very mainstream american medical association"it appears prudent for all adults to take vitamin supplements..Recent evidence has shown that suboptimal levels of vitamins, even well above those causing deficiency syndromes, are risk factors for chronic diseases such as cardiovascular disease, cancer, and osteoporosis." see http://jama.Jamanetwork.Com/article.Aspx?Articleid=195039.
