Heart attack pain?: A person with chest pain must see the doctor to find out why. He should consider going to the E.R. If he cannot reach his doctor immediately. If it turns out to be a heart problem, a collapsed lung, a pneumonia, a blood clot in the lung, bad heartburn, costochondritis (inflammation of the rib joints), etc..., he will still be in the right place at the emergency room. One chest x-ray isn't harmful.

Follow up: Please see your physician right away. The pneumonia three months ago may not be related to your current pain, if the infection resolved. Monitor your temperature, Ibuprofen for musculoskeletal pain may help.
