Atelectasis....: Atelectasis, which is when there is collapse of the small airways in the lungs, could account for your symptoms. If you get an incentive spirometer, and use it every hour while awake, the atelectasis will resolve faster. So, see your doctor and get an incentive spirometer. Your doctor can show you how to use it! And, if you smoke, you need to quit ASAP to decrease airway inflammation.
