2 months ago i was diagnosed with a macro prolactinoma (prolactin lvl of 4, 000)surgeon said he wasn't worried and endo put me on dostinex (cabergoline). is this ok?

Yes: Prolactinoma is one pituitary tumor that will respond to medication. It's recommended to try medication first before deciding about surgery. As long as you don't have visual problem, no rush to surgery.

Likely : Prolactinomas are generally treated medically not surgically but response to the medication should be monitored by imaging. Additionally i recommend all patients with pituitary tumors to see an endocrine specialist to check other hormones and an opthalmologist to assess visual fields.
