Good shoes: With any sport, it is important that you get good fitting shoes (including boxing, wrestling) as a diabetic to reduce any accidental trauma/cuts to the feet. Have your eyes checked to make sure you don't have any retinopathy or other problems with your eyes if you plan on sparring. If you do spar, it would be wise to wear headgear to reduce risk of damage to your eyes and accidental cuts on face
