Eye patch: An eye patch would not influence the medical course of optic neuritis. However an eye patch can help if you find the poor vision in the affected eye is distracting.

Yes, possibly: It can help reduce your symptoms if your vision is blurry and throws off the other eye; but it will not make a difference in the healing time of the optic neuritis.
