?diagnosis: Optic neuritis causes loss of vision, pain on eye movements, and color desaturation, usually in just one eye. Most could do this: There are some very basic tests for optic neuritis that any doctor - your primary, an optometrist or classic ophthalmologist can do. If it is subtle or if test results are conflicting then a neuro-ophthalmologist the specialist to see to make a final diagnosis.
