Vegetarian too: I am a vegetarian also. What were your levels? And did your physician provide any advice? Vitamin B12 is easy to supplement, but I am curious of the other "vitamin deficiencies" you mentioned. Please elaborate.

I admire people who undertake this lifestyle, especially for moral reasons, and I am glad there are physicians like Dr. Saunders who can give good advice about the supplements that are required to maintain health.

Vegan: Most natural B12 is animal and egg derived. Select soy will provide B12. Please take a vitamin supplement to prevent complications. Tablets should suffice. Get advice at your health food store. You may require a series of injections for awhile. Special B12 supplemented vegan foods are available now. See www.vegetarian.org.uk/factsheets/b12factsheet.html
