Is it true that diabetes can cause paralysis? means its just raised sugar in blood right?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: Having diabetes (high blood sugar) is a risk factor for cardiovascular events such as strokes and heart attacks. A stroke can cause paralysis. High sugars also can cause neuropathy (nerve damage) that can also affect sensation and muscle strength, and even temporary paralysis.
