Tricky: Back pain is very tricky to diagnose and treat. What you are describing is not uncommon. Have a discussion with your doctor about your options. Usually, various minimally invasive treatments are tried, and if these fail, the spine may be operated on by a surgeon in efforts to relieve the pain. At this point, i would suggest talking with a good back surgeon to coordinate your care.
