How long does it take to recover from a hysterectomy?

Weeks: Depends on type of hysterectomy and kinds of activities you are considering. With vaginal or laparoscopic hysterectomy, you may be driving and doing many normal activities in just a few days. It may be a couple of weeks before you are able to exercise or sustain activities for longer intervals. It may be months before feeling "totally normal" due to your body's normal stress reaction to surgery.

Varies: Recovery can take from a few days to a few weeks. The route of the surgery, vaginal-laparoscopic-abdominal, etc, will affect the recovery time.
