How long does it take to recover from abdominal hysterectomy?

6 to 8 weeks: An abdominal hysterectomy with a large incision requires 6 to 8 weeks to get back to full energy and completely normal exercise and activities. The recovery is significantly less (2 to 4 weeks) with a vaginal, laparoscopic, or davinci robotic hysterectomy.
