Analyse risk/benefit: Lipomas are benign growths, and they can recur. So without surgical removal the risk is for diagnosis (are the lumps something else more ominous), pain, discomfort, and appearance issues. The surgical risk for removal is expense, recovery and recurrence. If you want removal, then okay to ask for surgical consult and discuss your risk/benefit analysis.
