Prozac (fluoxetine): It should be treating the original symptoms it was prescribed for, at optimum dose. If other factors are triggering more symptoms, for example social stressors, then adjustment in Prozac (fluoxetine) dosage might be warrented.

Not uncommon: It's not uncommon for people to find that prozac's effectiveness wears off with time. For some it can stop working completely. I agree with dr. Ali that dose adjustments may be needed -- or changes to new medications. Also there are ways to augment antidepressant response, plus additional options if these don't provide relief either.
