Several weeks. : If a female has been breastfeeding her baby while taking Prozac (fluoxetine) continuously, then drug levels can build up in the infant. Also, if there was intrauterine exposure to prozac, (fluoxetine) the baby may have increased blood levels. Liver enzyme systems do not mature until 2 weeks after birth. There is variability in the metabolism of drugs depending on the type. The colic can last up to several weeks.
