See the doctor: Tight glucose control is the goal of diabetic management, as the systemic damage caused by dm is simply a product of glucose elevation over time. Diet, exercise, and medication need to be need to be strictly managed by patient and physician. Any unexpected glucose elevations may signal underlying illness, and need to be be evaluated by the doctor.
