A member asked:

What do you suggest if my mother recently got a blood sugar level of 280. what's going on?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

She's diabetic: Hi. No escaping that one. If her blood sugar is 280, she IS diabetic. She should eat healthily and exercise regularly (she may not feel like exercising until it's better controlled). Her doc will put her on appropriate medicine (or refer her to someone familiar with treating diabetes). There are great drugs out there now. She should control it tightly for life to prevent complications.
