Direct pressure: The best way to stop any sort of bleeding is direct pressure. In the mouth bite on a gauze pad for at least 30 minutes. This usually controls the problem. A next step is to bite on a tea bag. The tannens in the tea very often will stop the bleeding. Also remember that there may not be as much blood as you think. A bit of blood can get mixed in with your saliva

Pressure: A great way to stop bleeding is to bite down hard on a moist tea bag placed over the socket. The tannins in tea plus the pressure will stop the bleeding in time. If this does not work , call your surgeon asap.
