Wound care: If location of wound is contributing to it opening further, and it is not healing, then you might benefit from seeing your doc or a wound specialist. In the meantime, shower daily, use mild soap and rinse well with water, pat the wound dry, then hairdryer the wound and surrounding skin and folds. A dry dressing, even a feminine pad, and no manipulating the wound will help.

Get help: The real question is what not to do that slows down healing. Avoid using alcohol, peroxide, hibiclens, betadine, and bleach solutions. Inflammation ( red, hot, swollen, tender) is important to healing so anti-inflammatories (motrin, advil) are bad. Cover the area with a clean dressing changed every other day and protected from trauma. Antibiotics do not help healing unless it is truly infected.

After cleaning daily: You could apply an antibiotic ointment and an occlusive self adherent dressing such as opsite.
